I recently bought a print I’ve wanted for a couple of years, so getting the framing right really mattered to me. They were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. They took the time to talk me through different frame and mount colour options and gave really helpful, expert advice without ever making me feel pressured.

The whole process was easy and enjoyable, and the turnaround was surprisingly quick too. The finished piece looks amazing, even better than I’d imagined. I’m so glad I trusted them with something so special. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

We were recommended Smithbrook Framing, and took two large pieces of artwork in to be framed together. They were so helpful and friendly from the moment I walked in. They were enthusiastic about my idea for framing, conscious about price and realistic about what they could do. We agreed to go ahead and they said it was going to take a couple of weeks; I got a WhatsApp message about a week later saying it was ready to collect. The framing was beautiful, so carefully done and exactly as I envisaged. A most professional service, and beautiful result worth every penny. I will be back!

Hawaii Coffee Sack Frame

This is the second time we have used the wonderful couple who own and run Smithbrook Picture Framing,

We brought home a coffee sack from our recent trip to Hawaii and due to it being a special trip wanted the sack to be professionally framed. We went over various options and costs and ended up with something we will treasure forever. Gold Bamboo box frame with museum like glass. These are not cheap projects but like most things you get what you pay for. If you want something done to a high standard with people who care about your project and have countless of options then drop by and see what they can make you!

Went in to have our picture frame fixed as the picture had become loose. Such an easy process from start to finish. Could do the job, price quoted straight away, paid and left it with them. They even did it quickly so we got it back before their Easter holidays. Fantastic job, picture looks perfect. New string and even some cork pads on the back. Fantastic service, cannot recommend highly enough!

Great quality, quick service and knowledgeable owners - a fantastic local framer!

Amanda helped me choose frames that best complimented my artwork and then handmade the most beautiful, pink bobbin frames that I have been unable to find anywhere else.

The only issue is that now I have the UV art glass frames from Smithbrook, I am going to have to change the glass in all my other frames to match. I won’t be going anywhere else for my frames now, I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you so much Amanda and Alan for your help.

Super impressed with Smithbrook! I took in three pet portraits to have framed. As each pet has slightly different colourings Alan took time to find the right frames with me. Initially I’d thought three different colours of the same style but in the end we whittled it down to a black frame with gold flecked edging which worked for all three. I chose to have the sun protection glass (not the technical term!) as our house is super sunny and we don’t want the portraits to fade. This cost more but they look absolutely amazing. Also, the turn around time was super quick! We couldn’t be happier and will definitely be using Smithbrook again. Thank you Alan and Amanda.

We have used Smithbrook Kilns Picture Framing on two separate occasions both relating to mirrors! Once to save a favourite mirror that needed restringing as the original fixings were not strong enough and the second time around to put some fixings on very heavy mirrors so they could be hung. Alan and Amanda provide a fantastic service and are such specialists in what they do. Highly recommend!

I had an old passport dated 1915 that belonged to my Great Uncle. It was roughly an A3 size when opened up. I wanted to have it framed to show not only the side with the various different countries and stamps, but also the other side with all of his personal details and I wasn't sure if this could be done. Smithbrook Framing were excellent in giving me exactly what I wanted, with special glass used on the front to protect the passport from any light damage. They also recommended what type of frame to choose which had to be ordered in, they kept me informed every step of the way. I collected it yesterday and it is perfect.

Had two medium sized pictures needing more modern frames and was happy with the selection, service and turnaround. I dealt with Alan who took the details of what I liked and in just over two weeks he had them finished and they are now looking good on our bedroom walls. I went for the grey frame in frame design that has a modern simple layered look allowing the colours to leap out between the bold white mounted borders. The transformation is certainly noticeable and very pleased I’ve finally done it.

I wanted to send my mum (who lives in Spain) a couple of framed pictures of all of her grandchildren and my siblings and I for her 60th birthday. Having only had the gathering 2 weeks prior to the birthday I was really hoping I could get them to her on time. I took them to Smithbrook picture framing in Cranleigh in the hope of getting them made in time. They did not disappoint. Even though they were extremely busy and originally told me 2-3 weeks they managed to get them made for me in just 2 days so I could get them sent out. We've just had two very different paintings framed: one, a brand new oil from an artist known to our friends, which is not yet fully cured, and the other, a watercolour whose existing frame was falling apart. Both paintings were from the tropical island of St Lucia, and the change in humidity and temperature resulted in the need for reframing of the latter.

All I can say is, the standard of service was exemplary: unhurried, helpful and friendly when choosing our new frames, and then within less than a week, a call to say the jobs were done. And how well they were too. Superb quality, lovely detail (right down to cork pads on the frame corners to protect walls), non-reflective glass on the watercolour, and even complimentary brass picture hooks included.

Totally five-star - you have anything you value, that needs a decent frame - go to these guys!
